Love is the greatest gift given. It is compassion expressed for
another person.
Love is willing to sacrifice time and something of value
with someone else.
Love is not selfish
Love does not harm (Domestic violence does not exist where
there is love)
Love protects and secures relationships (Family members
never have to pay for the sins of others)
The Man Who Expressed
Compassion for Someone else
(Scene: A man has been robbed, beaten and lay near death)
Story as told:
A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell
among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed,
leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way:
and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and
looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was
and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil
and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care
of him.
And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence,
and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever
thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
From this story we can understand the meaning of the Golden
Rule: "Do to others as you would have them do to you" (based on Luke 6:31 states
And as you would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise)
Source of information: Luke 10:30-35 from the teachings of
Jesus Christ
God’s Love is his compassion expressed to the human race. He gave his Son, Jesus
Christ as a sacrificial offering for the sins of the world. It is because of
him, that we celebrate Christmas.
